Snag a Nibble

My new hobby as of yesterday is fishing sports! I have never really been properly fishing before so it will be quite a learning curve, but I have fallen in love with fishing sport none the less. I have no equipment yet so need to stock up on supplies from a boating and fishing shop and see if they can give me any tips while i'm there. I have a few friends who enjoy fishing so they can teach me the basics and any further information I need, I shall find in fishing books. I think the first lesson of importance is how to use fishing rods. They can't be that hard to master, moving a spool thing here and there, pulling on the fishing lines, easy! I'll be hauling in some giant snapper in no time!

I need to buy a prefilled fishing kit with all the hooks, sinkers, and cutting tools included. I'd like to get some lures too as they look like so much fun and come in so many colours and can even glow in the dark. I hope to find some customisable fishing kits that come with their own carry bags made of blue fabric textiles. I need some gum boots, waterproof coat, fishing hat covered with hooks and lures, a foldable camping chair, buckets, a net, and a bag to put everything in. I'm assuming there will be faucets at the local fishing spots to wash my hands, and hopefully there is a local bait and tackle shop too, perhaps owned by Alf Stewart.

I might find that if there are enough of us who want to go fishing, we will hire fibreglass boats and try our luck in the deeper waters. I need to find out which fishing hooks are suitable for which fishing conditions and what fish. It looks like there is actually a lot to learn when it comes to fishing and I guess practice makes perfect. I just love the thought of sitting in the sunset, fishing reel in hand, chatting with mates and enjoying a beer or two. Pure bliss!

If we manage to catch anything, I wouldn't mind firing up the barbecue and cooking it right there and then for a perfect and delicious end to a perfect evening.

Fat Little Hobby Museum

I've found myself beginning to build up quite a collection of mobile phones from various phone eras. Whenever my mobile phone plans end, I can't help but take advantage of the free mobiles available on new plans. I've even bought some prepaid phones just so my collection is up to date. One day i'm sure it'll be worth millions and have great historical value. They may even name a mobile phone museum after me or dedicate a ringtone to my brilliant work.

My next mobile purchase shall be a Nokia 6500 slide phone which has 3G, 3.2 megapixel camera with flash, internet, video calling, and a music player. It also comes in silver or black so I may have to buy one of each to avoid leaving a gap in my collection. It's always an exciting moment breaking out your credit card as you purchase the next mobile phone (or phones) online!

I do watch my spending and never buy overpriced items and always keep my eyes out for cheap mobiles. The resale value of my collection will be worth far more than the amount I paid in the future, so i'm not greatly stressed if I do buy the occasional expensive mobile. I better not neglect my laptop collection with all this mobile action!

Sites for all!

I found this great website where people can register an account which they can then fill with sites they recommend. There are several members who have some very interesting sites which I hope you will also enjoy. Terrance's site is filled with finance sites and some tempting icecream sites, Michael also has a remarkable amount of financial sites saved which i've found to be quite useful, and finally, Michelle has wedding sites as well as some gadget sites full of handy information.

A Passion for Planes

I'm yearning for a lifesize model plane kit but it's a bit out of my financial reach. I've been wanting one for years so I think i'm going to bite the bullet and look into secured loans. I believe rates are much lower compared to unsecured loans so i'll see how I go.

It does seem a little extravagant to apply for a loan just to buy a giant model plane but i'm rather passionate about this hobby! Perhaps I should just compare credit cards and find a substitute there. I think i'll contact a financial advisor to discuss my options.

House of Cards

I've got such a collection of old and current membership cards, bank cards and reward program credit cards that I thought i might try my hand at creating something out of them. It came to me in a dream (or did I see it in movies on tv?) that I could create a castle of epic proportions!

I think i'll work in colours - grey and platinum for the bottom level (the American Express Platinum credit card is particularly shiny and would be just perfect!), red for the middle level, and gold for the top level (this time the Commonwealth Bank - gold card would be just right to make the towers sparkle).

I think i'll need some sort of tacky glue to keep them in place as they're so slippery. Looks like a trip to the craft shop is in order!
